If you have been told you are unsuitable for dental implant treatment, it is likely because the levels of bone density in your jaw are not sufficient. Advanced dental procedures, such as a bone graft or sinus lift, can significantly increase the chances of successful implant placement and give you a stunning new smile.
Our specialists are highly skilled and experienced in performing advanced procedures relating to periodontics and implant surgery. If you need a bone graft or other procedure, we explain the treatment in detail and ensure you are kept informed every step of the way. Your new smile will be worth it!

A bone graft is used to increase the volume and density of the bone in your jaw to enable the successful placement of dental implants. After a tooth extraction, the jawbone is not stimulated, so begins to recede. We can add bone graft material to improve the volume and density, ready for implant placement.

The upper back jaw is one of the most difficult areas for successful dental implant placement, especially if teeth have been missing for a long time. A sinus lift raises the height of the sinuses and adds bone required for stable and strong dental implants.

Deformities in the upper or lower jaw, caused by periodontal disease, denture use, developmental issues, or trauma can result in insufficient bone for dental implant placement. A ridge modification can correct this, using additional bone to build up the ridge and modify its appearance. This significantly enhances the success rate of dental implant treatment.

A bone augmentation is often carried out at the same time as implant placement. It involves adding bone around the implant due to small deficiencies in the existing bone. This helps provide a solid foundation and enhance the look of the implant crown.
A bone graft is a surgical procedure that involves adding bone or a bone substitute to your jawbone. This is often done to prepare the area for dental implants or to treat bone loss.
Dental implants require a certain amount of jawbone density to be successful. If your jawbone is too thin or has been damaged, a bone graft may be necessary to provide a strong foundation for the implant.
A sinus lift is a surgical procedure that involves raising the maxillary sinus floor to create more space for dental implants in the upper jaw. This is often necessary when there isn't enough bone in the upper jaw to support implants.
Advanced dental procedures are typically performed under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel any pain during the procedure. However, you may experience some discomfort or pain after the surgery, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
Where possible, we use autogenous bone for a bone graft. This is bone that has been taken from another area of your body, usually another part of your jaw. We can also use synthetic bone or allograft bone, which has been donated by another human.
