Meet the team
Dr Alan Sidi BDs MSc PhD
Dr Alan Sidi qualified from Guys’ Dental Hospital in 1979. Specialising in Periodontology, he gained an MSc with Distinction in 1982 and a PhD in 1989.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Sidi is a Specialist Clinical Teacher at Guys’ Hospital Dental School, London. He regularly lectures to General Dental Practitioners and occasionally runs courses for other specialists.
He is a registered Specialist in Periodontics and has published papers internationally. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, The British Society of Periodontology, and The British Dental Association.
Dr Sidi speaks fluent French and Italian.
Glenda May
Dental Hygienist

Glenda’s career in dentistry began as a trained dental nurse. She then qualified as a Dental Hygienist at Guys’ Hospital Dental School in 1986, where she was awarded the Hu Friedy Student Scaling Prize. Glenda worked as a dental nurse for the British Army for 7 years and as a dental hygienist for the American Navy for a further 7 years. She joined Dr Sidi’s team 17 years ago. Glenda is passionate about her profession, which is evident in her enthusiastic approach to the care of her patients and her desire to keep up to date with the latest information by attending regular conferences in the UK and Europe.
Kerrie Knight
Dental Hygienist

Originally from Vancouver Island in Canada, Kerrie studied at King’s College Dental Hospital, London. She graduated in 1996 as a dental hygienist after first training as a dental nurse. In 2003 she joined the team here at Portland Place. As one of our hygienists, Kerrie’s main priority is ensuring the patient’s ongoing oral health is well maintained. She keeps up to date with the latest information by attending regular courses.
Jane Dyas
Dental Hygienist

Jane began her dental career in Kent where she worked for three years as a dental nurse before studying dental hygiene at The Royal Dental Hospital in 1982. Since graduating she has worked mostly in private practices, in the West End of London. She joined Dr Sidi’s practice in January 2008. Jane finds working in periodontics very rewarding as patients can be referred at varying stages of periodontal disease. She enjoys building a rapport with her patients to ensure the long term success of dental implants and maintenance of oral health.
Martin Goodson
Practice Manager
Martin has held various roles in administrative and managerial positions within an HR environment. He also spent a number of years living in a Buddhist temple teaching meditation, a useful skill in our busy practice! His aim is to ensure that patients and staff receive the support they need within the practice.
